Richenda has always had a natural affinity with horses. In her younger years, this passion was supported by her ardent enthusiasm for Pony Club, eventing and regular hunting.
Richenda gained considerable experience in various training yards, enabling her to hone her skills, training point-to-pointers. No trainer ever forgets their first success, notably for Richenda this was 'Coolers Quest' who won a hat trick in her first season of training. Following seasons lead on to a further 20 winners in quick succession with various horses. This period in time truly marked the beginning of Richenda's journey towards gaining a professional licence.
Our assistant trainer Clare Gundry (Mac Mahon) hails from County Meath on the east coast of Ireland. Born of a successful equestrian family (notably her Father who competed at the Olympics no less than 4 times), Clare is well versed in the hard work and dedication required to produce success. Riding from a young age, Clare has enjoyed many Pony Club championships, eventing, showing and hunting.
As Clare grew into adulthood, her dedication and passion for horses grew too. Moving on to riding and training point to point pointers it’s no surprise that Clare was crowned champion amateur lady jockey for four consecutive seasons and proudly boasts 120 winners across all codes.
